Tale-Telling, Politics and Romance; Christmas at Killaloe – 1102

We are delighted to announce that February’s lecture will take place on Wednesday evening, 26th February at 7.30pm.

In the Winter of 1102, Ireland’s dominant King, Muirchertach Ua Briain, hosted both the King of Norway and leading Anglo-Norman Lords, had two of his daughters married, engaged in political intrigue, and probably commissioned a literary account of the Battle of Clontarf.
This talk gives some of the background, and the consequences.

Rosemary is a Medieval Historian and Folklorist, specialising in Norse-Gaelic Relations.

We will see you on the evening of WEDNESDAY 26TH FEBRUARY at 7.30pm in the Ballroom of the Lakeside Hotel.
The Lakeside Hotel are providing our Society with this venue for free, and we thank them for this sponsorship. If you want to thank them for this, why not pop in for your lunch or dinner!
