Christmas Lecture Announced – Mulled Wine Included!

This is just the perfect night out if you are a fan of local or family history! Do you have family visiting? Why not bring them along to this welcoming, FREE event in Killaloe Library. Paddy Waldron, renowned third-generation genealogist, will walk us through how to begin putting together your family history and family tree. After this, we will enjoy some mulled wine and mince pies, and celebrate our first year (four months really!) in operation as the Killaloe-Ballina Local History Society.

Paddy was Chair of the Council of Irish Genealogical Organisations from 2011-2012, and has given talks and presentations on genealogical research all around Ireland. You can read more about Paddy on his website here. If you want to do any ‘homework’ before the lecture (entirely optional!) you can read his excellent online guide to how to navigate the Irish General Records Office here, or how to trace your ancestors using online maps here. He has also presented a radio show on how to trace your Co. Clare ancestry in particular which you can listen to here. We are so thrilled that he is giving his time so generously this Christmas to guide us through the process and answer our questions!

Please help us promote this talk by sharing this post, our website, or the Facebook eventHere is a higher quality version of the poster for printing, if you fancy going that bit further and sticking one up on your office noticeboard! Every little helps. Thanks so much, see you there, and Merry Christmas!
